Nadal does not expect the season to start soon and fears injuries
Clay? That's his number one surface. Rafael Nadal, like his competitors, cannot play due to the coronavirus pandemic. The famous Spanish tennis player does not expect an early return to playing tournaments. The holder of 19 grand slam titles is currently worried that the risk of injury will increase after a long break.
International tournaments are canceled until half of June and some the tennis players don´t even expect to play this season.
"Training is not a problem, but tournaments ... I find that very difficult. We have to be responsible and I cannot imagine that we would travel every week to a different country and meet many people´´ said Nadal to spanish newspapers.
It is obvious that some time we will play without an audience, although it's definitely not what I like. We should not start that soon even If the situation gets better´´ added the 33-year-old native of Mallorca.
Another problem was posed by the risk of easier injury. "If I start hitting the ball, I can injure my hand on few places. After such a long time, the risk of injury is greater," said the tennis player, who was plagued by frequent healthy troubles.
